I have a rectangular shape front yard that I would like to fence off in an attractive way. I'm looking for a spectacular design to include contemporary fencing no higher than 42” tall (city code), however the greenery in front or behind the fencing can be taller than the fence to create privacy. I am looking to separate my yard from the neighbor’s driveways to the west and east in a unique way. Please see the to-scale layout of the front yard. The front yard should feature a blend succulents, a unique fence that is contemporary, a pedestrian gate and a rolling gate for the driveway. I want all features to be clean and contemporary. Emphasize a design plot plan first. Accompanying elevations and 3-D rendering is encouraged. What plants/ landscape should I have up against the home? What does the walkway look like to the front door from the pedestrian gate? Winner may be hired to continue on plan work. I have attached the overall property plot plan of the front yard. I want new and wow ideas. I want wow visitors who come to the home. I have attached some inspirational pictures of landscapes that I like. I don’t want any water features as they are costly and need constant maintenance.

Robert A. I am a newly divorced man. I have my kids on the weekends. the front yard is not going to be used for a play or sitting area. I would like the fence to be contemporary in nature. It might be nice for it to be smooth stucco in white and play off the plants. This is for a home in Los Angeles San Fernando valley area. I am interested in a modern, organized landscape and I am also interested in some privacy as the frontage of the home is right on the street. Realtors like to walk up to the front door and leave their sales materials. I think by having a nicely designed perimeter fence, wall and hedges (maybe podocarpas) with pedestrian gate and rolling gate, I will achieve the privacy I'm looking for. Again, I think neat, organized and modern would be great to compliment my home.

For a proper design to be developed, participants need to have a better idea of the requirements of the project. Aesthetic preferences are well-covered in the precedent photographs. However, many other parameters are missing. What city and state is the project located in? Are there other city codes or ordinances that the design must adhere to? What is the demographic of the homeowners? For instance, are they a young married couple planning on having children? Do they already have children? Is the owner an older retired person? Etc, etc, etc. What types of outdoor activities must the front yard accommodate? What is the purpose of the fence? I'm very interested in this project, but I don't think a feasible design can be developed using the given criteria. Please provide more information. Thanks!
