WELCOME TO OUR CONTEST!

OBJECTIVE:
This contest will aim to understand your perspective on how the future supply/demand of construction and manufacturing jobs will change over the next 5-10 years. We want you to showcase through one of the creative avenues listed below, who you are and your story.

**A total of $4000 USD will be given out in prizes with a top prize of $1000 USD - see full details below**

Recommended Creative Avenues to use to submit a final deliverable (Choose ONE):
- Create a video
- Create an info-graphic
- Create an animated video
- Create a painting
- Essay
- Illustration
- Anything else you think can showcase your story in a creative way

**Note: Supported files types for a final deliverable will be video formats only. If you are submitting a deliverable that is not native to video (Illustration/essay/painting), record a short video of that deliverable.

Step 2: Depending on your self determined participant type (read below), please answer the following questions in the format of your selected creative avenue. (ie. Create a video answering the questions below)

PARTICIPANT TYPE A:

Definition: You CURRENTLY work primarily in manufacturing and construction

Scope:
All types of employment – full time, part-time, union employed, contractor, freelancer, etc.
Type of role: Manual labor, digital labor, supervisory, managerial, ancillary (electrical, multi-media)
Specific sectors under construction or manufacturing: TBD

Answer these Questions:
1. Describe your construction/manufacturing-related job role in a few sentences
2. Also describe all other work-related sources of income
3. How have you seen your job description and/or skill requirements change over the last 5 years? How has digitization and automation changed how you do your job, if at all?
4. In the next 5-10 10-15 years, what impact do you think trends like digitization and automation will have on your job or the work you do?
5. On a scale of 1 to 5, how comfortable or uncomfortable are you with your readiness for the change you identified above (1=very uncomfortable, 5=very comfortable)? Please Explain your thinking.
6. If you were to choose one skill or areas of expertise that would best prepare you to be successful in this industry 10-15 5-10 years from now, what would it be?

PARTICIPANT TYPE B:

Definition: You recently transitioned out of being working primarily in construction or manufacturing

Scope:
All types of employment – full time, part-time, union employed, contractor, freelancer, etc.
Type of role: Manual labor, digital labor, supervisory, managerial, ancillary (electrical, multi-media).
Specific sectors under construction and manufacturing: TBD

QUESTIONS:
1. What do you do today? Please describe in a few sentences all your work-related sources of income, including full-time, part-time, contract, freelance, and other work.
2. When and why did you transition out of manufacturing or construction being your primary industry of employment?
3. Where and how did you acquire the skills to transition to your new work?
4. Coming back to construction and manufacturing, if you were to choose one skill or area of expertise that would best prepare you to be successful in those industries, what would that be?

1st Prize: $1000 USD
3 subsequent Prizes in the amount of $250 USD
10 additional prizes of $100 USD
25 additional prizes of $50 USD
