@foriegnfern before you finalize a design be sure that it is is not a copy or a similar idea because you may have to do a legal battle after that.I am not saying that jonwilliams74 has copied or may be he doesn't even know about it but the ideas are strikingly similar.

Ok, had to clear the board a bit. Thanks for your submissions everyone, but the logo's that are left exemplify the boldness that I'd like to see in our logo. Some of the ones rejected were little works of art that just don't function well as a logo. As for those that are left, I really dig the boldness of the fist, but the only problem is that the fist, rising sun rays, and red star are Iconic Symbols in old Communist propaganda posters! We are not communist or socialist in anyway. Individual liberty all the way! Anyway, right idea, but wrong symbol. Getting closer for sure. #32 : Very cool. Only problem is that its a picture, so we can't really get that embroidered. Maybe a drawing representation of same idea.

Yes I had to try one with the fist also, after the independence flag inspiration (#33) after having thought about it all day and despite seeing the other fist versions on returning home. And one a bit more literal than my first one with the hand holding growth (#34). To clarify my first submission ( #6 ), yes it represents: air (sky) water (ripples), solar (yellow sun), growth (using green leaves in a floral pattern). Zoom in, the yellow has rays (too subtle maybe).

#17 Good effort. You really did incorporate the Bansky/Flag thing, huh? Unfortunately, the Texas Independence Flag that I linked is of an arm holding the sword that it used to cut itself off from its body, and has NOTHING TO DO WITH the State of Texas Flag. We are NOT trying to look "Texan", in anyway. I referenced the Independence flag because its exemplifies the DIY spirit. Thanks for the attempt.

Inspiration: Bansky (artist), meets Texas Independence Flag (http://www.tamu.edu/faculty/ccbn/dewitt/images/dimmitsarmflg.gif), on the Mayan Calander, with sun, water, and earth involved too. Get funky with it people. #6 the more I look at your design, the more it reminds me of the Obama Presidential Campaign Logo. But, damn, really dig the colors.

@ForeignFern I suggest making the contest sealed so designers won't see each other's logo concepts resulting in more creativity and better quality work. And maybe guranteeing the prize.

Great start guys! A little too corporate though, because we are more of a movement. Think revolution, independence of our own community, and of our own self. Logo should be bold, edgy, with depth. It has got to mean something! :) #6 : great color scheme. Do the waves and the flower represent something? (Water, solar?) I also like the stencil text, kind of a street feel. #3: very clean. However, the logo (besides the text) is too impersonal. Thanks so much, I'm very inspired! Hope to see more of your work!
