You need just to answer the Theory of knowledge question "What is the importance of Statistics(Math topic) in the history of Natural sciences?" here is an example of an answer, but for trigonometry (Answer something like this): "We chose to explore trigonometry, since it’s one of the most prominent mathematical fields, and trigonometry is used in many scientific spheres, but mostly is utilized in sciences that involve a lot of distance measurements, like astronomy or oceanography. We can say that trigonometry plays an important role in the history of natural sciences, since the spheres where trigonometry is a pivotal tool in researches and developments, wouldn’t have applicable knowledge without trigonometry. In order to understand it, we can simply take a field like astronomy, and look at the application of trigonometry in it. In astronomy, trigonometry can be used to calculate the distance between any cosmic objects, and knowing the distance alone is extremely important and it helps to calculate various values, like the amount of petroleum required, amount of food to consume per day to survive within a certain period of time and so on. because the scientists are able to properly calculate these and many more values, many space missions and researches were accomplished that turned out to be decisive and vital for human society. We can see that trigonometric calculation sets up an important chain reaction that results in successful space missions that had a historical significance, and basically application trigonometry is the key for a successful production of knowledge. and that is why it is reasonable to say that trigonometry is an important piece in history of natural sciences. however, one might have a different view on it, saying that trigonometry can be important in one scientific sphere, but also can be unimportant in another. For example, biology was prospering for centuries and the amount of trigonometry used there is comparable to the amount of sodium in the human body, which is almost 0. And it’s a pretty reasonable argument, but I don’t believe in it, since all of the scientific spheres are important for humanity, and without astronomy or oceanography our planet would be completely different because everything is connected to each other. Without astronomical knowledge, you cannot successfully apply and produce biological knowledge, because for example, if NASA wouldn’t find a distance between Earth and an imminent asteroid in 2005 to change it’s course, would we be sitting in labs today searching for covid remedies? probable not. So, as we can see trigonometry is important for different natural sciences and one science would definitely not produce historically significant knowledge without trigonometry being implemented in the other. Now tying it to the main knowledge question, we can say that math is important for the development of natural sciences, because trigonometry, is the branch of mathematics, contributed a lot to the development of astronomy, where a lot of new knowledge was produced over time, and even helped other scientific spheres to prosper and have new knowledge in them. So, applying trigonometric knowledge helps to produce more knowledge that resulted in development of natural sciences and its separate fields.
