A small resistor in series connected to the existing relay senses current. Arduino measures the small voltage drop on this resistor. If above threshold (ie: 0,5Volt) then relay is on. Arduino then energizes external relay and buzzer for 5 seconds. Once the existing relay shuts off, the circuit resets itself waiting for next relay activation.
