Create a multitab excel sheet with rollup summary formulas

I’ve created an ugly mockup excel sheet that clarifies what I want and provides examples. I see this as really 3 key pieces of work: 1) Data entry on the one tab listing out all the texas state standards in the form I need them in 2) Building the rollup logic of the summary tab 3) Building the slice/dice logic of the deficiencies report/tab (can probably just get away with a slick pivot though) Here’s the need/scenario: There’s a single student being homeschooled. Who knows how his education so far has aligned with the Texas state standards? I need to have an excel checklist that I can go into and say “yeah he knows that”, “no he doesn’t know that yet”, all the way down the list… and then look at a summary that tells me the following about little Timmy: • (Broken down by grade) He’s met 85% of the standards in grade 1 and 65% of the standards in grade 2 - He should be placed midway into 2nd grade • (Broken down within grade) For Grade 2 he’s met 100% of the math and 20% of the science - He needs to get his science way up it's holding him back • Looking at any particular grade, or a particular subject within a grade, here’s the list of standards that aren’t currently met by Timmy The example: On one tab, there’s all the Texas state educational standards. You can sort by status, subject (e.g. Math, Science, Social Studies), and grade level (K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd). Out of that list I can go to a specific standard like 111.3.b.1.a “apply mathematics to problems arising in everyday life, society, and the workplace;” and mark it as “met”, “unmet” or “partial”. They are documented here: [login to view URL] A rule to help clarify interpretations of the Texas standards site: Some standards are vague as to what grade(s) they actually apply to. To address that, assume any listed standard that’s vague as to what year it applies to applies (only) to the highest grade mentioned (e.g. a “Grade 3-5” standard would just be set to Grade 5, a “high school” standard would apply to grade 12). Also note: only the "Knowledge and skills" section of each standard contains actual standards. The rest can be ignored. Also a tip: I know there are "TEKS Checklists" out there that have the data entry basically all done - but I could only find PDFs. A little search time or PDF mojo might save you a lot of data entry time.
