I'm looking for some help with data automation within a spreadsheet. I have a comma delimited .txt file with varied amounts of data and quantities of components from an AutoCAD drawing. This data/needs to be imported simply (perhaps with an import VBA button) into an excel spreadsheet and then with a VBA button fill out a product quantities table.
Each of the products has variables such as Length, Lable (Product Code) and Rail Type. These variables will influence the final product quantities table so could make for some complicated excel formulas. I will attach a spread sheet with instructions, however there may need to be a discussion to ensure continuity in development.
I've also attached a blank layout document to work with and a txt list of all of the components. The txt import needs to put the information in the correct location on the excel template. Rarely two data imports will ever be the same so the spread sheet will have to deal with potentially 1000 separate items in no particular order and then calculate quantities based on that data.
I'm not familiar with Excel Formulas but I have left instructions on the attached spread sheet. Hopefully it is all possible. The template may need to be completely redesigned to function properly.
