I have experience with appium and selenium, I've done functional and acceptance tests on mobile and web applications. Worked little with Jenkins but I have worked a lot with Teamcity, a CI/CD from the jetbrains, adapting my experience on Teamcity to Jenkins should be fairly easy. If you want to have a sturdy environment, I would start coupling a functional/acceptance test on your CI/CD system, so that every midnight, after doing a nightly build, the company will get results either the application broke or not from the past day changes, making it a faster to spot when the error was introduced. After that, it is a good idea to add-in some integration and unit tests, those are faster to run and can be ran after every commit push, this way, making it even faster and easier. The idea behind this philosophy is to every issue the company faces, new tests are created to ensure they won't happen again. To do so, we'll have to setup a CI/CD environment(if you guys doesn't have one), configure such environment to ran the tests, and then start working on the tests itself.
