Visual Basic for Excel App to Create Spreadsheet of list of names & data by finding a match in FaceBook

Our running club uses FaceBook to manage our activities. We have about 700 members on our club page ([login to view URL]) and the members come and go regularly as the organization continues to grow. We also participate in running races in our local area frequently. The results of these races are usually posted on a web site and we can download them into Excel. This project is to build an application, in any system you choose (but Visual Basic for Apps (VBA) in Excel seems logical). Simpler the better. It should do the following: 1. INPUT1: Read the latest list of FaceBook members (builds a list) from the FaceBook page. 2. INPUT2: Read in race results from an Excel file which contains the results of a running race (unless it is easier to read it directly from the web). 3. Normalize the lists so that a comparison can be made. 4. Scrub the Race Results spreadsheet to remove non-members. 5. OUTPUT: Produce a new spreadsheet with only the data for the matching members. In other words, we need an automated way to scrub a race results spreadsheet to remove any non-members. The two difficult parts of this project will be: 1. Reading the list of names from FaceBook. 2. Normalizing the Race Results spreadsheet. Race Results arrive in many forms with various types of data in varying columns. They will always have a name field but sometimes there will be First Name and Last Name fields. Sometimes the Full Name will be in one field and if so, it could be last name first or first name first. If varies depending upon the producer of the data. Output of the system should be an Excel spreadsheet with all the data for each entry intact and in separate cells aligned in proper columns with column headers. If possible, just leave it in the format in which it arrived. If it is less costly and easier, we can manually download the results data in Excel format as Input. SPECIAL NOTE: Our FaceBook Group page is an Open page, but we will NOT add non-locals and non-runners to the group, so unless you are selected to do the project, please do not request to join the group. That said, there is nothing special about this FaceBook group page. All FaceBook group pages are the same and build their member lists in the same way. You could just create your own very simply for development and testing purposes.
