Some Access/ Excel VBA work - opening documents, copying and backup files

Hi, What you have described is straight forward however I have a few questions regarding the points 1 and 3. 1) is the security per file or just access to the database 3) What else do you need to do with the file other than the record entry, renaming and creating a backup copy. Is there any additional processing of the file? Technically I have 15+ years developing VB and database applications and I have developed numerous access applications for various requirements. So I should be able to provide the application you require. I've had a look at your requirements and its a pretty simple project ... key things I would do in this system for you as part of this build... With all of my database work I keep it as user simple as possible whilst maintaining flexibility. You will be provided a standard interface that will be able in the future to be added to. 0. User interface to control all of this (This is standard with all my designs) 1. Sign in (user will have to fill out a user name and pwd to open it). This also needs part of an "admin" section (admin login can set / create user names) You will be provided an admin section where you can add individual names and passwords for you to update. The Admin section will be protected by a second password. 2. Filename (column headings) plus version. Set of filenames should be available from a separate table Core files that you wish to open. Essentially once you open the file... the other activities will occur. 3. When a file name is opened, it makes a table entry saying when it was opened, then creates a backup file (in the same directory) and then modifies the file name to include -vX-date This is easily be done ... key difference in my system will be that you will have the flexibility to put the file structure where you required. 4. Should be able to open other versions from a version history table A version list will be available and can be utilised to open a version history ... this list will be in the state of a form.
