Extend and customize Jupyterlabs

The goal is to alter some core behaviors in the default jupyterlabs setup and make its behavior and UI consistent in a special required way. The existing ground work for this job is an alternative proprietary Content Manager using the jupyter Content API. This CM doesn’t display local disk files like the regular one, but a number of other (remote) files and directories. It's very important to note that the task is to improve and extend this home-grown Content Manager. The job encompasses that in the end, all file-related jupyterlabs menu items, context menus etc. shall be consistent, for example the “download file”, “rename file”, “copy download link”. Sometimes the solution is to remove the menu item, sometimes it would be to implement it. It’s part of the job to determine at first the feasibility of a solution and how far jupyterlab already supports customization. The deliverable is python code altering the default jupyterlabs behavior, extending an existing solution/code base. Access to the codebase and the CM is given through git, a full dev environment requires running go (go-lang) binaries which are provided. Setting up the dev environment is supported.
