Convert data (live counter) from a website to my website and display it in a customized design counter of my choice..

Hello My name is Borna; I'm experienced web scraper, expert in HTTP, and I've done tons of similar projects. The project: You didn't say which server side language you prefer, so I hope you don't want a full javascript solution, to load data on the fly, without server. If you want server side: What we basically need is repeatedly send 75 HTTP requests (for each counter), parse HTML (PHP's DOMDocument::loadHtml + XPath is awesome) and store the parsed counters. We repeat the whole process every X seconds (e.g. every minute). The stored data can be in "ready to serve state" (e.g. HTML, XML, JSON) and saved to memcache for fast HTTP responses. If I understood correctly, you want that the counter gets updated automatically, so that it increases in the same time as the timer on the other site. The important thing to understand is that the server cannot send HTTP requests to a client without prior being requested by it. So, in order to keep counters updated, we should refresh the data automatically (using javascript) every, e.g. 20 seconds. So, the whole process would go like this: The client is every x seconds sending HTTP request to your server, asking for 75 counters. Your server send response with data (e.g. JSON). Does the counter run at constant intervals (eg. 1 sec) or will the scraper have to check in constantly and get the fresh number? Hey Questions: 1. Do you need the counter to update live, or is a periodical update sufficient? If you truly want a live counter, I suggest scraping every X minutes and calculating the difference to infer the incrementation speed (may have very slight accuracy problems). I do not see an obvious way to scrape in real time. You could potentially scrape the website several times per second, and then use websockets to update the value on your site in real time, but then you may run into rate throttling problems. I don't recommend this approach. 2. Do you need 75 different counters scraped? I would need to see the target website, because that is potentially a lot of work.
