We use iText, and explored Apache PDFBox for similar requirement plus adding digital signature to PDF invoices. Our application supports over 100k PDF generation on daily basis. are we to use GPL version of iText (v 2.1.7) or AGPL ,latest version of iText with licence ? kindly provide information on the number of PDF which require merging ? number of pages in PDF? and whether any logic is required while merging ? or is it just Copy all pages from PDF A , then PDF b etc and merge same in original sequence in PDF X , then put password protection on PDF X. Are All pages of source PDF of same size? Both Merging and application of password can be done on single Stream of data with single write to disk with final output. Assuming that Input PDF name, Final PDF Name, Destination , and Password to put on final pdf will be provided by you. Pls note two half pages cannot be merged into one, if your source PDF is having two half pages, destination merged pdf will also have two half filled pages, not single full page. I can deliver the Java part but i don't have knowledge of Groovy, FileMaker and ScriptMaster .
