I need an experienced developer to fix w3c validation errors. I would prefer to work with someone who has prior experience working in any eCommerce Shopping Cart Software like 3dcart, big commerce, volusion or any other. The website [login to view URL] was developed using the 3dcart template. But there had been customizations to the base template. When the website is run under w3c validation it shows errors and warning. (W3C markup Validation and w3c CSS Validation Service)
pages details
----------------
Fix 8 htmls and 1 css file.(see attached file)
[login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL], [login to view URL] and [login to view URL]
Errors are related to HTML, HTML tag alignment, java script, CSS. I am not sure about this but may be ASP content.
One html page like [login to view URL] is the template for more than 10-20 product html pages. I need someone who understands that.
Conditions:
--------------
- This is a live website hence care needs to be taken to maintain the integrity of the site. In terms of the link, navigation, color, look and feel.
- The pages (html, css, asp) cannot be over rided with any other prior version
- Installing other themes or templates is not allowed.
- You cannot contact the eCommerce Software provider directly - all communication should be through me.
If any of the above mentioned conditions happen and if could not resolved within 12 hours (even after me notifying you) the project will be deemed closed. No further payment will be given.
- You can work only on the existing page/code. FTP and Direct website access will be provided. You should not alter any other page other than the ones mentioned above. FileZilla is prefered for FTP Access.
Payments
--------------
- Milestone 1 - First 30% of the agreed project cost will be released at milestone one. At this time the errors should have dropped to 40% in the all the pages. Both the W3c markup Validation and w3c CSS Validation Service.
- Milestone 2 - Second 30% of agreed project cost will be payed. At this time the errors should have dropped to an additional 30% in all the pages. Both the W3c markup Validation and w3c CSS Validation Service
- Final Payment - Remaining 40% of agreed project cost will be payed . At this time the errors should have dropped to another minimum 15%-30% on the all the pages
For any reason if you cannot fix any further error(s) the project will be closed. For instance if you have fixed 45% of the errors only Milestone 1 will be payed and the project will be closed.
When replying:
---------------------
Please mention your prior experience in
1) w3c validation errors
2) eCommerce Shopping Cart Software - what did you do there?
3) knowledge of needed technology to fix the w3c validation errors.
General Comment:
--------------------------
If you are in for a quick money this is NOT the correct project, this project will consume time. Since it takes time to understand the template, pages, page layout and to also fix the errors without hindering the website. But the advantage is it I am looking for a long term relationship and I have several projects like this. Hence I would probably hire you again if the job was well done.
Thanks and Hope to work with you
JB.
I agree with the milestones.
1. I fixed W3c validation errors in the following CMSes: WP themes, Joomla, Drupal, static websites, build from scratch websites.
2. I worked on a couple of projects involving adding functionality to CMS and database query-ing debugging and optimisation.
3. In order to know how to fix W3C validation errors one must have knowledge in xhtml and css2/3 ( on the latter it depends on what features are used, some css3 features still aren't considered valid )
