The project is basically composed of simple pages as a start The first page takes input from the user as a list of urls the user inputs each url in a separate text box and processes it on the fly. also there is an add / remove button beside each row to add a new row of text box just to illustrate the idea [login to view URL] So what happens is that the user enters or pastes a url in each text box when that happens the page should extract data from that url the same way facebook does when you paste a url in post like this [login to view URL] It extracts page title, some description, and images from that page too choose from as a thumbnail, ours should do the same except with a small difference, facebook only tries to get small images so that it makes it a thumbnail for the link what we should do it lookup all images in the page especially the big ones are more important for us and instead of the page description extraction we should try to extract the price of the item in that page ( the link paste in our page will be a link to a product in amazon or other online shops, so we need to parse the html and look for the price part ) So Things to be Extracted: 1- first thing, all the big images in the page (images should be fetches from the page and they should be sorted by dimensions ) 2- page title, item name and description if the link is [login to view URL] , if not we should just get page title 3- item price 4- the link to that item (we have that already its the url that the user pastes, so we should just save it) Very basic data crawling as you will look for specific word "price" or currency sign $, Euro etc.. at the end of this page , the user should have a submit button , so basically what the user did is pasted a couple of links from online shops whether famous ones like amazon or small non famous one, so we shouldnt base our data crawling on a certain format. This page should fill in our data base a row for each item , that will contain, item picture, description, the link that the user pasted, and price.
