I need a javascript for a PDF which is usable with Adobe Reader 6. The PDF-Document contains Formfields and a special Button which compresses the Fielddata and creates a 2D-Barcode out of it. The 2D-Barcode is displayed in a predefined Area on the PDF. The PDF can be printed after the Barcode is generated. Printing without Barcode is disabled. Fields: Text and Checkboxes with up to 1000 Characters Barcode: 2D: PDF417 or Data Matrix (others possible) Dependencies: - just Adobe Reader 6 (for client machine) - no internet connection - no Reader Extensions - no other resources/files What we get: - well documented code - documentation (in english) (just to get it running) - Sample PDF with working Barcode generation - Codesample to decompress the Barcode-Data (not the OCR Part) back to original content (Language: VB or Java) This technology should be used to simplify data acquisition. The PDF is filled by customers, printed and sent via traditional Mail. As the Barcode contains all the filled information, a simple Scanner can decode the data.

Hi, We are a software development company that has been working with PDF and Acrobat related projects for several years. Everything you mention is doable and we can develop the require AcroJS ( a little different from the regular JS) and provide documentation and support for you to get the PDF form working with barcodes. Note that you cannot save the PDF with the barcode, if you want to work with Reader. You can save it if you use the Professional Acrobat version.
