Seeking Business Journalist to Conduct Video Interviews over Internet

We need a journalist to conduct and record video interviews with company directors on various business topics.

We have a prepared script and will do all the administration of scheduling the interviews, what you will be doing is preparing follow-up questions and set up the recording and conduct the actual interviews.

Skills Needed

• You need to be comfortable confronting the interviewee with tough questions (e.g. potential scandals) and follow-up questions based on their answers.

• You need to be an experienced interviewer.

• You need to be a native speaker of: English, Spanish, Japanese, German, or Mandarin (If any of these are not your first language, please do not apply. Being fluent is not enough, you need to be a native speaker.)

• You may conduct the interviews from your home or office, over the internet and using for example Skype or other video conferencing software combined with a video recording software.

Technical Requirements

• You need a very high speed internet connection. We don’t want screens freezing in the middle of the interview which could happen on a slow internet connection.

• You need to record at, at least, 1280*720 resolution.

• You need a HD webcam.

• You need good lighting (both for you and the interviewee) and a clean background.

• If using Skype, please make sure you have the latest version of Skype.

• You need to record your audio and the audio of the interviewee in separate channels. Preferably you should also record the video screen of the interviewee and of yourself in different movie files (this way we can decide later if we want to edit so that a small screen of the interviewer is shown on top of the interviewee’s video).

• We can provide video recording software for you, if needed.

We will provide you with the contact info to the Directors to interview, and schedule the interviews, after coordinating with you.

We expect the length of the interviews to be 5-20 minutes.

We will provide the script or list of questions, but it’s up to you to ask follow-up questions depending on how the directors answer. Therefore some preparations are needed, for example to foresee what kind of answers the Directors might give and what follow-up question each answer merits. You are free to edit the script/questions (but please check with us).

As the topics are business related, you need to have a business background. You also need a background in journalism and experience of video interviews.

We will own all rights to the resulting video and audio.

There will be 10-40 interviews in total to start with. We will need interviewing done every few weeks after that.
