WOLAS AT A GLANCE.
WOLAS is an indigenous non-governmental organization established in February 2008, and works in three regions of Ethiopia. These are: - Amhara, Oromia and Tigray. It is working in partnership with actors in the natural resources development.
Vision: - to see communities manage, utilize properly and protect from damage their
natural resources and develop sense of ownership to communal properties and
thus will lead to sustainable development.
Mission:-
1. Playing advisor role in creation of user groups association,
2. Advising and assisting user groups to draft ,adopt and execute enforceable byelaws,
3. Advising and assisting users associations to have a legal personality status.
4. Coaching communities in byelaw execution and management of resources.
Major values: - Community participation, rule of law, efficiency and effectiveness
transparency, accountability, gender sensitive, and responsiveness.
