Approach: I have experience with web scraping content (e.g. accomodation info, travel routes etc) in my own application and I have a good idea on methods to do it. For example the simplest being reading the html from the url and looking for the div tags containing the info you need and extracting these directly into a listview to be displayed in the app or something different like loading the content in an invisible web view if the website content is not immediately available and loads after the fact via javascript calls. What can you share specifically about the app, what needs to be completed still and what specific content do you need to show & from which sites? Hi there. Since you only care about the approach to be used during the development of app, here's what I personally think. I'm guessing it's better to use API's provided by popular websites like CNN to feed news (data) directly to your application without having to scrape them. In case some websites do not provide APIs and you need to include them within your application, I can build a targeted algorithm using Python to scrape data from there. Python allows usage of many libraries that makes scraping way easier. One thing that you shouldn't worry about when working with me, it's that I get things done. Approach Hi there, Here is my idea how it would done. We'll do/run a cron job at server side to selective website and update our/our server to populate data. Admin can change or delete it from there and then Android app will be fetch data from our server. As cron job will update the news periodical you can select time how frequently you want to update it.
