It sounds like you need a character selector! Which is great as I've done a lot of work in that area and my last two jobs also required this from me. I've also done character customization, so if any special features are required we can arrange something! As for the selector, it's a straightforward implementation which can be also built in a way where you can easily add new characters in case you wanted to release some more content at a later date.
