Requirement: Need assistance in writing ASP/HTA/SHTML code to control a server side com port. Overview: Currently using ASP, Access, IIS 5.0. Need the ability to pull data from ASP pages on Update ‘Submit??, store that data as variables and send that data to a Com Port. We currently have a customized version of Tera Term Pro which supports, Dial up, Direct connect, Telnet and Rlogin, Basically we need TeraTerm to act as a Web enable (server) side program to send data to legacy systems the same way it works now. Specifics: 1. Will have at least (4) modems connected to server, 2. On submit ASP code will attempt to connect Com Port 1. If com port 1 is in use ??" then try Com Port 2, 3. ASP code will connect to available Com Port and perform the following actions: Example: (tx=transmit, rx=receive) ASP fields submitted as Update: DN=??2222?? Name=??John Smith?? Tx: LD 95 Rx: REQ Tx: CHG Rx: TYPE Tx: NAME Rx: DN Tx: 2222 Rx: Name Tx: John Smith Rx: NACT Tx: **** Tx: LOGO 4. Need the ability to check “rx?? lines from com port against known/expected receive commands to perform error capturing. 5. Need to write/capture interaction with com port. May want to present this data on a blank HTML page as [login to view URL] commands or as a .txt file 6. Finally, would like the ability to open in HTML/ASP/HTA/SHTML the com port terminal to allow users to command line program to the com port. You can use ActiveComPort or MSComm or call a .exe (such as Hyperterminal/TeraTerm) or (any object that you know works well for server side Com Port control) to create the object and control of the Com Port. Also this functionality should work using telnet and/or Rlogin protocol.
