Current build is stand-alone PC, no write restrictions.
Installshield Wizard.
Phonomena: Game, multithreaded Direct X app in Visual C/C++ via Visual Studio v6; Analyser, Visual Basic.
Current: Installs to \Program Files\MindWeavers\Phonomena (or \Phonomena_US ).
1) Saves output files (.csv) in \output. Seems to take reference from where installed to (Installer registry entry?), saves to subsubfolder. Or looks at itself? (believe Analyser works like that ??" below).
2) Analyser, separate app. imports data from .csv files, stores in db
On Analyser first run looks for new files in \output subfolder. Either from registry entry and then \Phonomena\Outputs, or looks for \output subfolder of wherever finds itself. Believe the latter.
If, ON FIRST RUN Analyser does not find .csv files prompts to navigate. If navigate and find new files, thereafter looks in THAT location. Once files found subsequently always looks to the location. Then imports data and runs. If subseqently does not find new files simply displays data in database from last run.
Indicates Analyser built to work with user selected output location, but Phonomena does not allow choice - needed for networks with write access restriction on local drive.
2) Phonomena looks for 2 graphics files on CD for security.
New build(s):
1) Network with Phonomena installed on local PC drive, but User write access restrictions to local drive hence has to write output files to a network drive with write access and Analyser has to read them from there.
2) Installing by network share and removing need for CD in tray.
Please advise, and if two solutions quote separately.
