I would like to create a Javascript based horizontal slider control that includes 5 or 6 slider knobs such that:
1. the knobs could overlay each other, but could not overlap, that is, each successive knob value would have to be greater-than or equal to the one to its left.
2. different selectable colors appear between the slider selectors.
3. Values for each of the slider knobs are available to an external HTML form field for posting.
4. The graphic for the slider knob would be a diamond shape and color selectable.
5. The selections would be in whole numbers and less than 100.
6. The background rule would be dynamically adjustable from maybe 6 units to a maximum of 100 units and typically no more than 7" in width.
The use for this would be for a task timeline to simply represent that with a graphic tool in a form, each knob representing a composite task, such as a form for a software product, first slider would represent project initiation, second planning, third testing, fourth go-live, fifth production optimization - you get the idea. This would provide a simpler way for users to input timelines versus the need to enter dates and check each for consecuitive, etc. Just slide the graphics to the proper month of the project duration for each and be done.
I would prefer to own the code outright even though I don't have any particular commercial aspirations at this point.
this site has something like what I'm after (may be some reusable code, technique or ideas), but it is only capable of 2 knobs:

## Deliverables
1) Complete and fully-functional working Javascript with simple knob and background graphics.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b)Pure Javascript only (no downloads/JAVA applets), and only concerned with IE versions 5+, no need to support earlier/alternate browsers as this will be used internally.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
b)Pure Javascript only (no downloads/JAVA applets), and only concerned with IE versions 5+, no need to support earlier/alternate browsers as this will be used internally.
I'm thinking this should be relatively simple owing to some similar source code available -- If I'm missing the cost estimate badly, let me know. If there is a fast way to do it with a modification of the Blueshoes stuff, I will investigate licensing.
