I'm hiring a developer to create only the beginning of an web application. If this milestone is completed well, there will be more work immediately. The completed work must be uploaded so I can test the functions before signing off. I have a list of restaurants based in NYC in an excel sheet. I need a programmer to create an web application that can filter the restaurants and separate them by location, Ratings and Cuisine and display filtered results along with details of the restaurant. I can provide an example in excel document. The full list has 800 restaurants. Zip codes are provided and have to match up to areas in New York For example: Zip Code Area 11206 Williamsburg A user will be able to click an area in New York such as "Williamsburg or Upper Westside" as a filter and the zip codes that is linked to the area will be displayed. I can provide a website that lists and identifies the areas and zip codes. Note: Zipcodes have all been entered into the excel sheet This application will be used in Wordpress website. I expect to be able to use an application with an interface that allows me to search the restaurants within different areas of New York, IE upper west side, Harlem, Lower eastside etc and then by cuisine and by star ratings. Now how can you find the restaurants within those area? How will you add those? from XLS file or from admin back end panel manually? I have planned to create a short-code plugin for that. Which will have an admin back-end panel. This uploading and management should be done from admin backend and users can search those from the front-end. So, hows it? I AM REAL Hi, I work on many websites including certain leading restaurant guides in sweden and surrounding countries. I understand the requirement and need some clarifications/assumptions validated: 1. Currently looking only for NYC 2. The list of ~800 restaurants is a one time load. I assume you'll also need capability to add/modify/delete them from the website itself. 3. Pt 2 also will imply that only admin/authorized person will be able to input information - which we will use wordpress authentication/authorization. Following are some suggestions for filtering: 1. Can we make a small NYC region map and allow users to select the region and then subsequently filter more finely. 2. We can also look for a distance based search. e.g. 5miles surrounding Harlem. Based on your comments, I can revise my estimates. Thanks in anticipation.

I AM REAL Yes truly I am. I see you need a restaurant location finder. Do you need a (Google)map with it too? Does this system need to fit inside a Wordpress Plugin or can it be standalone? I AM REAL My name is Aaron Glasenapp, and I am a Ruby on Rails developer. I know you request that this be a wordpress website, but as a Rails developer, the functionality you describe is probably better suited for the Rails framework, which allows for scalability as your website grows. If you are set on wordpress, then you can disregard this bid, but if you want to consider using Rails, I would be happy to discuss what I am able to do. This is quite a large project, and my guess is that a quickly built prototype will not scale well. Rails has a robust database structure (Postgres) which allows for the kind of grouping and sorting of restaurants that you describe.
