74279 Design Project Board for staff

We are a printing company based in Australia ([login to view URL]). I require a CGI where jobs can be posted by our sales staff. Our designers can then pick up the work (password access for our designers only) and communicate directly with the customer via this system. We do not want our design staff to communicate directly via email as we have no way of tracking and solving customer disputes when things go wrong. All our customer details and orders are in a MySQL database running on the server and jobs will be placed into this new system either manually or automatiaclly by our website (this will be taken care of by inhouse programmer). Complete information will be given to chosen programmer. This is basically how I would like it to work: ----------------------------------------------------- A sales rep sells business cards to a customer and enters all the customers design wishes into the system which then fires an email to the chosen designer (chosen by the sales rep from a drop down box of designer we have in the system). The chosen designer then receives information about the job by email and can submit artwork proofs (web upload) (as GIF or JPEG). Once this has happened the customer will receive an email explaining that he or she has an artwork proof available to look at online and must login to view. Once the customer logs in he/she can leave requests changes or approve. If the customer requests changes, an email of the requested changes are sent to the designer who can then make changes and upload new artwork proofs. If the designer needs more information from the customer, he or she can communication with the customer via the website and only via the website. ----------------------------------------------------- Designer details, password and email address etc. can be stored in a flat database file or mysql. Easy admin section is not required for this. Hope this all makes sense. More information on database structure and input methods will be explained as we already have a similar system in place.
