We are looking to partner with a software firm to help build and update a custom CMS with a plugin architecture.
The CMS needs to be a large scale Web application built on the LAMP stack. It needs to be fast, scalable and easy to maintain. It must have the ability to have custom privacy levels, custom applications and the ability to reuse modules on multiple pages. Think of it as a Facebook + Joomla.
It's important we find a partner that speaks good English and delivers rock solid code on time.
It must be able to do the following:
1. Every element on the page must be a module
2. Ability to add, modify and remove applications
3. Ability to add, modify and remove pages
4. Ability to add, modify and remove sites
5. Sites on the same server must use common code base
6. Ability to manage and push sites to different servers
7. Flexible privacy/ACL settings
8. Ability to cache html, data, and pages
9. Flexible templating system (no code in the templates)
10. User management and invitation
11. Must use ORM or Web services for retrieving data
12. Must separate out data retrieval from UI creation
13. Ability to use different language packs
14. Ability to upload files to CDN (A3, Mosso)
15. Ability to run sanity checks and unit tests
16. Firewall and traffic throttling for bots
17. Themes for different pages & sections

4. Bookmark Manager
5. User sign up & profiles
6. Blog
7. Business listings
8. Web site directory
9. E-commerce
