Create a Wordpress web site that is a dictionary which allows people to search for terms and acronyms and display up to 20 results from our dictionary posts. Users should be able to search for:
- term (partial strings ok)
- acronym (search for term within ())
- beginning of term
It is acceptable to ask the user to choose an advanced search screen for acronym and beginning of the search term.
You should be able to create the necessary script to allow for these search options and explain to us how it works.
When a person wants to search for an acronym, the search function should automatically add parenthesis to the term. We define acronyms by the full term followed by the acronym in parenthesis. For example, if the user searches for the acronym ATM it should automatically create a term (ATM) to search for. The term (post title) is stored in our database as “Automatic Teller Machine (ATM).”
The posts will be created by uploading our database. We plan to upload the database with new and updated dictionary definitions (posts) every few days. We currently use a MS Access database which can be converted to an SQL file. You will need to give us a sample SQL database template and define how we can upload the SQL database to the Wordpress site.
We need the definition posts to have file names that we specify which include keywords.
The search results should be able to insert a Google Adsense text ad on the 2nd list result and on every 5th result after that (mixing in text ads with definitions). This means ads appear in the 2, 7, 12, and 17th result location.
We also need the definition posts to have metadata (tags) that we control from the database upload.
The appearance of the web site should be similar to our [login to view URL] web site.
We plan to create a new project for dictionary theme after we get this site operating.
There needs to be a page that lets people submit a new definition which stores the submission in a file that we can download every few days.
There needs to be an option that allows the viewer to submit recommended changes to the definition post they are viewing.
We will divide payment into 3 parts:
Phase 1 – Basic Search (simple term search, ad in 2, 7, 12, and 17 search result locations)
Phase 2 – Advanced Search (search by acronym or beginning of text)
Phase 3 – Definition Submission – New definition and correction submission
We have over 10 additional wordpress projects that are similar to this that we will submit over the next 3 to 6 months including article directory, company directory, whitepaper directory, and others. We will give project assignment preference to the person who can do this project successfully for us.
