SUMMARY:
This project involves creating two specific database examples using RealBASIC 5.5.
## Deliverables
The two examples should demonstrate the following two uses of databases in RealBASIC 5.5. I am familiar with SQL in Access, so any use of SQL will be beneficial to my learning (although not essential).
1. A calendar for the 7 day week, with buttons to advance forwards week by week or jump to a specific date (by clicking on a calendar control). The calendar should show hourly blocks of 9am to 11pm as its row headings and MON - SUN as its column headings. Users should be able to select a block of hours (or group of blocks of hours) by selecting the relevant cells of the table. The user should then be able to type in an appointment and this appointment will be saved in the RealBasic database under the appropriate date/times.
2. An address book which should store first and surnames, home and mobile telephone numbers and e-mail addresses. Simple validation rules should be applied (e.g. an e-mail address should contain an 'at sign' and full-stop/period). Users should be able to assign their contacts into groups (and name the group). They should then be able to write an e-mail to a group or groups, a contact or contacts or a mix of the two. The contact details and list of related groups should be stored in the RealBASIC database.
This functionality involves delivering the following:
1) Complete and fully-functional working program(s) in executable form as well as complete source code of all work done.
2) Deliverables must be in ready-to-run condition, as follows (depending on the nature of the deliverables):
a) For web sites or other server-side deliverables intended to only ever exist in one place in the Buyer's environment--Deliverables must be installed by the Seller in ready-to-run condition in the Buyer's environment.
b) For all others including desktop software or software the buyer intends to distribute: A software installation package that will install the software in ready-to-run condition on the platform(s) specified in this bid request.
3) All deliverables will be considered "work made for hire" under U.S. Copyright law. Buyer will receive exclusive and complete copyrights to all work purchased. (No GPL, GNU, 3rd party components, etc. unless all copyright ramifications are explained AND AGREED TO by the buyer on the site per the coder's Seller Legal Agreement).
## Platform
All Windows platforms from 98 upwards (especially XP).
