We have a solution that has been written using MFC and COM, runs from the System Tray in Windows, and meets the following design goals: 1) It is downloadable from the internet by members of our site (it is only 60kB or so), 2) it is easily installable by the site member who downloaded it, 3) it can parse a 'member_id' out of its own 'as-downloaded' filename, and remember that id forever 4) it is able to 'intercept' accesses to URLs found in a list of URLs & merchant codes that it will periodically download from the internet 5) it is able to create a URI of the form [login to view URL], and reroute the browser there Our hope is that it will do all of the above reliably and transparently, forever... ;-) The code we have appears to work well, successfully downloads the required information from our website and uses that information to perform the browser reroutes. We want to make sure that it is as stable and trouble-free as possible before we make it available for download to a large member base, but the programmer who created it cannot continue with it's further development, as he is moving on to another project. We are looking for a programmer who understands the issues and technologies involved, who can review the existing code and revise it as required to make it as robust as possible. The candidate programmer would work with the original coder during a 'hand-off' period, after which he or she would be on their own to maintain or improve the code going forward. If you feel you would be qualified to help us with this project, please respond with your qualifications, email address and phone number. If you live in the Dallas / Fort Worth area of north Texas, that would be an advantage. Please feel free to ask any specific questions that address issues I failed to cover!
