Hello, I am not the expert but I can suggest couple of things, first did you try manual blocking of IP address which can be obtained by netstat, you can block highest requested IP address. Then mod_evasive is an appache module for you to stop ddos. Another thing is that cpanel provides "CSF (Config Server Security & Firewall)" lower your "CT_Limit" or "CT_INTERVAL“ or changed allowed ports "CT_PORTS=80,443,53"

Hello, I'm Linux admin specialized in WHM/cPanel with +20 years of experience. The best way would be a hardware firewall but for this, you need help from your hosting provider. If you are limited to software solution there are several methods to make situation easier. 1. Using CSF firewall 2. Using Apache modules They will not stop attach completely but will reduce intensity. Writing your own script does not have much sense because this would be really big and expensive work and the effects would not be so good like using CSF and Apache.
