raspberry pi - wifi installation like a router

Hi, I'm passionate about routers and programming. I've played a lot with WRT Operating Systems and I also know linux, php and java. What OS do you have on, is it Raspbian? Just so you know...I'll need access to the raspberry for tests, to see what packet it's using to connect to wireless networks.(If it's Raspian you'll have wpa-supplicant) Also another packet may be required to search for networks(maybe airmon-ng or airodump-ng) so the raspberry may require connection to the internet. Also if want to enter manually the network SSID will require more work. Kind regards, Tudor I also want to buy a raspberry pi for myself to transform it in a router. :)
