The raspberry pi is fitted with 2 Ethernet boards, one for the camera and another for the local network. The Hikevision camera is an IP camera with external power supply. An external input alarm signal is connected to the camera. The SD card on the camera saves videos clips each time an external alarm is trigged. The SD card contain a list of *.mp4 files of the video clips corresponding to the alarms. Commonly user runs the Remote backup app from Hikevision to retrieve the clips or user connects directly to the local camera IP. Tasks for the Raspberry in Python are: Each 5mn a cron process executes: Synchronize timedate on the raspberry (master) with the camera. Check if there is, at least, a new clip in the list (or more than one) In this case copy the new files on the raspberry with the same names and delete the files on the SD card camera. Jobs: Configure local network with an external extra board. Connect the IP camera to the extra board Test the camera and retrieve the clips with a python code running in the cron

Hello, I can develop the python application to move mp4 files from Hikvision IP cameras to Raspberry Pi local storage (SD card). I have my own Raspberry Pi boards (1b, 2b, 3b, 3b+, 4b-4gb). I also using Hikvision NVR (DS-7608NI-E2) and Hikvision IP camera (DS-2CD1021-I and DS-2CD1121-I). But these cameras don't have SD card slot. I need more details about your Hikvision camera model.
