Write some Software

We want to automate testing of our web app in verious brwsers and at verious resolutions. We were looking at using selenium plus Python to test our web app. Creating a solid structure that is robust enough to handle changing page layouts and also have an easy to understand structure to add new tests over time. Ideally these tests would be run after unit testing to give an extra layer of testing before the final testing stages. At this point the data only has to visibly change on the web client. Reading directly from the database is not immediately needed, but a possibility in the long term. Sanity check testing: We would like to test that each component does what it is supposed to - searches return data, viewing a waste activity takes you to the waste activity page, site does the same for the site page and so on. Data on the page can be packaged so it can be easily tested against known values. Data on the page can be edited and tested that it has changed. Some example tests: Edit an existing Agreement so its start and end date are changed, save and test that it has taken effect. Add a new Agreement using a new owner or an existing one, a new or existing generator and submit - Then test it was successfully created. Issues: Handling the data that is represented in multiple ways. Tables/form groups and how to compare that data in a sane way. Editing the data in multiple types of ways: in-line on the same page, being redirected to another page and using multiple controls. Handling responsive designs with components that change size, could display less/more data or may not always be visible at all times. Data may not come back immediately so components may not exist until that data comes back. We're flexible about how this could be done but time is against us. We'd like to work with anyone who has experience in this area. Could be fixed price or hourly rate
