The software application is a nautical mapping application that will show the users current position & the position of multiple other vessels from information received via the network. • The software shall be cross platform and able to run on Linux and Windows via Qt • The software shall be able to display a nautical chart using provided SDK’s (to be provided) • The display shall make use of the latest OpenGL technology to allow for fast rendering of a high amount of user data & targets. • The software shall make use of layering • The software look and feel shall be a ‘modern’ type with simplicity of use being a key design factor. • The software shall be able to receive data via network and serial ports via “NMEA” type messages. The application shall include logging to assist debugging and the key design should ensure the application is fast and fluid in operation
