We have a stock and market tracking program that tracks certain stocks, markets and publicly traded indices. Our daily trading data consists of six specific fields: Name/Symbol, Open, High, Low, Close, SUMMARY (one-to=six word description; approximately 1,000 unique comments are tracked).
The attached sample file illustrates how the raw data is generated into the six fields. Our database tracks about 350 market names/symbols from STOCKS, ETFs, METALS, MINERS, MARKET INDICES, AGRICULTURE, BONDS, ENERGY, FOREX.
We need to construct a database allowing easily input of raw, public daily trading data-summary results into an Access (SQL-compatible) database for easy accessibility and further detailed analysis, primarily through Excel. Sophisticated, statistical data analyses will also become part of the database over time.
The attached spreadsheet is an example (stocks) of the raw daily data output we have to work with and input into the database. (It was generated from the past two trading days, June 30, July 3.)
