can you please provide existing vb6 project so that i could look at the code , maybe direct conversion from vb6 to .net wizrad will not convert properly . some rewriting of code will be required .. Hi.. I have many experience converting projects from VB6 to VB.Net using the VS 2008 converter. My last project was about to convert an Excel Addin made in VB6 to VB.Net. The final solution could be compiled in VS 2017. I have set a 5 days period for delivery but it will depend on the complexity of the project to be converted and if it uses third party dll's. I'm a senior software developer with more than 25 years of experience on generating desktop applications for Microsoft operating systems. I worked with VB since the first versions (Quick Basic) to the actual VB.Net and with all Microsoft operating systems for desktop (from DOS, Windows 3.1, Windows 95 and above) and server (from Windows NT and above). I'm an electronic engineer too, so I know how work a serial communication, but I need more information about your issue. For example which type of instruments are you using and what type of communication error have you encountered. The conversion from VB6 to VB.Net is always a pain, for many software developed by me in VB6 I preferred to rewrite them from scratch instead to convert them to VB.Net and solve several hundred issues generated from the conversion procedure itself. If the software is not too much complicated we can rewrite it in VB.Net, this should solve the problem because the .Net Framework offers native access to the serial port and we can use managed code to avoid memory leakage and asynchronous procedures to obtain the right synchronization for threads, that in this type of applications are often the cause of issues. I read your requirements, I can convert your VB6 application to VB.NET (using .NET framework 4.5). It will support both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of Windows. I have converted many VB6 projects in the past. I have the following questions : 1) Do you have any simulator / emulator for testing RS-232 and G-PIB links ? If the protocol is known, I can use an emulator to test it on my end - this will save a lot of time and improve reliability. 2) I can also debug and test the VB6 application on Windows 10 (and debug using VB6 Enterprise Edition). 3) Does the program use any database(s) - e.g. MS Access etc ?
