Regarding resource movement it will be better to be aware about the restrictions or limitations for moving with same subscription or new subscription, Recovery Services limitation, HDInsight limitations, Load Balancer limitations, Public IP limitations. 1. In case of moving resources, both the source group and the target group are locked during the operation. Write and delete operations are blocked on the resource groups until the move completes. This lock means user cannot add, update, or delete resources in the resource groups, but it does not mean the resources are frozen. Also the location of the resource not be changed; Moving a resource only moves it to a new resource group. The new resource group may have a different location but location be same. In case of moving the application within the same subscription, the uploaded SSL certificates cannot be moved; 2. There may need to upload software, tools or even database files to the VM. The most convenient way to do that is to have a FTP server on the VM, so you can do uploading and downloading from anywhere. FTP sessions need to establish two connections to transfer a file: - Control connection. Used to send control between server and client. Established when client connect to server on port 21; - Data connection. Used to transfer files. In active mode, client randomly picks a port; in passive mode, server randomly picks a port, and client makes the connection.
