Instrukce k soutěži

The overall goal of this project/contest is to lay out a plan that optimizes the site to accommodate a mixed-use project with the following characteristics:

20 Micro-studios/maker spaces for artists (320sq.ft. one 40’ HC container each)
20 Micro-retail stores for small makers (320sq.ft. one 40’ HC container each)
23 Studios (300-400sq.ft.)
32 1-bedroom apartments (400-500sq.ft)
23 2-bedroom apartments (500-600sq.ft.)
The project will be 3-4 stories, so this would mean 12,000-15,000sq.ft. on the ground floor
The project will be constructed using 40’ HC containers (40’ long, 8’ wide and 9’6 high)
You may assume that any walls from the container may be cut/removed.

The project should also have at least one contiguous 2,000sq.ft. or larger outdoor eating area/beer garden where people who buy things in the retail stores can hang out.

The project will need 120-150 parking spaces and they should be surface parking, not under ground. If you cannot fit all the parking on the surface, it’s OK to put parking under up to 1/3rd of the buildings as containers can span 40'.

The site plan must meet the building standards and codes of the City of Austin (http://www.austintexas.gov/department/planning-and-zoning)

The goal of the project would be to first create a site plan for the project and then the successful designer may be chosen to complete the schematic design, BIM model of the project and potentially renderings.

Final files must be provided visually as a PDF but must also include DWG (CAD) files.

All, if the design is good there is much more work on this project, but I want to work with the right person for this project which is why I am starting with a contest. Sorry but I won't increase the prize at this point but I am very fair and if the work is good I will do more work with the winner and possibly other people as I have a lot of projects.
