<Technology Description>
This technology reduces the driver’s discomfort, under a situation that semi-automatic control in which both lane-keeping control and vehicle control by driver steering are performed is performed.
A problem in a case that the semi-automatic control is performed occurs when that the driver uses the steering to change lanes to an adjacent lane during the lane-keeping control. The problem occurring in this situation is that the target steering angle calculated by lane-keeping control may be significantly changed at a timing when a followed lane set by the lane-keeping control is switched to the adjacent lane. In this case, the driver may feel uncomfortable.
Considering the above problem, in this technology, the lane-keeping control changes the target steering angle gradually when the following lane is switched to another lane. That is, in this technology, the lane-keeping control calculates the target steering angle such that the calculated target steering angle is not fluctuate greatly.
