Instrukce k soutěži

I have a small boat house (20'x 12') that I’d like to convert into a studio rental

One room is 12'x12' and the other 8'x10'

Attached is the current layout. I am interested in mainly interior design where it's such a small space.

Purging thoughts here:
My thought is the garage door in the 8x10 area comes out and becomes a nice big window. Also the door in the 8x10 arena comes out.

All of the plumbing needs to be in the 8x10 area.

Also the 3 panel sliding door could become a 2 panel door if needed.

As you can see from the attached pictures I tried to take a swing at this myself....it's such a small space and I don't think the things I put in there are to scale.

All plumbing needs to be either on the far left side or far right side (there are big steel beams that run under the concrete in the middle.

The main room (12x12 area has an open ceiling....my thought was to throw a loft above the 8x10 area for another bed etc...not sure how stairs will work etc.

Bed in main area could also be a Murphy style bed or pull down etc....tight quarters! :)

    Just the description of this winning entry highlights there was more communication and information exchange with one specific contestant than others, thus making it biased.

    As for the applicability, a bunch of things stand out like : access to the mezzanine(impossible to climb unless you're a midget), size of bed on mezzanine, fixing the mezzanine, storage (or the lack of it), and the plumbing constraints mentioned by the client (sincere lack of following them), non-existent elevation and fixture details, and what about the lighting?

    hi sir, thank you again for this contest. I have a few criticisms for the winning design, but that doesn't matter. Although some designs are not the best design, they may be the most suitable design for you. I agree with you. I also congratulated the winning design. but the courtesy of the winning design owner was not very pleasant. It is not nice for him to criticize my architectural knowledge without knowing me with a single project. I am no longer interested in this situation. This is your contest and you are free to choose the design you want.The only thing I was sorry for was that you could state on the contest page that a design suits you. Or you could stop the race. While you were dealing with a design, we spent a lot of effort. actually, that's a waste of time. However, thank you for giving us a chance with such a contest.     Dear Chris, and for everyone else participating in the contest : This was this dumbass' response to my initial queries :
    Very interesting design....I always imagined the loft on the other side but I do like where you have it!
    - Electricity Supply : Any constraints to be considered (nothing)
    - Direction : I think the goal here is really to position your main sitting areas to face the beautiful lake (having the bed face the bottom....and sitting area. I like that
    - Temperature Conditions : I'll probably just install some electric heaters for now with a heat pump next summer for AC etc...wall mounted unit
    - Storage : Your preferences, as for how many people, how many days' stay...(really only built for 2-4 people I think....and the 4 would be tight. This rental in the Spring. /Summer / Fall is meant to get people outside using the lake
    - Furniture : Think lake - cabin - wood grain etc :)
    - Environmental factors to consider - not really

    Hey, a loft above the main living area for another bed is possible for sure, and I'd advise not to have a bed above the kitchen, for it could get uncomfortable. Second, combining the plumbing for kitchen and washroom could get loud on the nose! You could keep them in the same set of walls, but make sure you have seperate inlet & drainage pipes for both. I'm working on this, should upload my entry soon enough. If you need to consult over this, I'd be obliged!
