We're selecting MULTIPLE WINNERS for this contest because we're trying to add more designs to our inventory. These graphics will be used on t-shirts for saltwater reef aquarium hobbyists. Graphics need to be at least 600 dpi or larger & in PSD or AI format (sorry, no CDR files) . The print area will be 14" x 18" (graphic doesn't have to fill that whole area, but that's the space what we're working with). We're currently looking for multiple designs, so you can look at the design/slogan ideas below, or come up with something completely original.

We will pick one 1st place winner, and then plan to select multiple other designs. Our goal is to increase our inventory with this contest, so we plan to pick multiple winners. We will pay $20-$30 for runner-up designs.
Below are some slogan and design ideas (they're not in any particular order). Also please check out the graphics attached below for other ideas (please DO NOT use any of the graphics attached in the design because they do not belong to us.)
Design/Slogan Ideas (I've put slogans in quotation marks. Stuff in parentheses is just for clarification):
• Star Wars parody reef shirts...
• "Some things are more important than reef tanks...but I can't think of any right now."
• Reef T-shirt designs specifically for ladies
• Budget priorities for reef hobbyists (see attached graphics named "priorities" for ideas)
• "Teach your kids about corals... They will grow up not having enough money for drugs."
• "Happiness is staring at my reef tank"
• "Chicks dig reef tanks"
• "Chicks dig (insert name of fish)"
• Coral with slogan that says “You want a piece of me?”
• "Bigger AINT better" (feature nano reef tank)
• "To Reef or Not To Reef…That’s not even a question"
• "I’d rather be reefing…"
• "I ❤ Reefing"
• "I ❤ Corals"
• "I ❤ Fish"
• "Top ten reasons to reef..."
• "R2R... it's not just a forum, it is a way of life..." (R2R refers to www.reef2reef.com)
• "Will work for frags"
• "It's a REEFER THING you wouldn't understand..."
• Clownfish in Uncle Sam outfit with slogan “We want YOU at REEF2REEF” (promoting www.reef2reef.com)
• Tang Police design (if you google "tang police" you'll see several graphics out there already - this one needs to be original)
• "I'm not big - I'm a colony" ("colony" refers to large coral colony)
• "I can't afford another car, I own a reef tank"
• "When in doubt - change your water!"
• "Pods…the other white meat"
• "My fish tank is worth more than your car"
• "Real men REEF!"
• "I do remodeling" (feature an engineer goby)
• "I support my husband’s/wife’s addiction" (addiction is reef aquarium hobby)
• "This is my Frag Swap shirt"
• "So many corals...so little money..."
Also, make sure all fish/coral/aquarium images are saltwater/marine/reef related rather than freshwater. Our customers will pick out the difference immediately.
A great place to get to know about the reef aquarium hobby is www.reef2reef.com or www.reefedition.com. Those sites have lots of info about reef hobby. The REEF2REEF facebook page might be helpful as a resource as well. If you want to know about specific types of fish, you can also check out www.liveaquaria.com.
We leave comments frequently with thoughts, edit ideas, etc. Also, here's how we use the star rating system:
* = Poor quality.
** = Not what we're looking for.
*** = Good work. Not totally sure we will use this design, but it is a nice design.
**** = Great stuff! We may use this one!
***** = AWESOME! We definitely want this one!!
We also actively reject entries that do not meet our criteria to try and keep only options we consider possible options visible at any time.

Went through and removed about 30 entries. I'll try to continue to remove a few more. We're still thinking about the ones that are left. We have some definite top contenders for 1st place, but remember that we are planning on buying multiple designs...that's why I'm not removing ones we are still thinking about (even if they might not win 1st prize).

By the way, we generally avoid the use of photos on most of our designs. We prefer vector images, hand-drawn, or other types of non-photo artwork.
