We are hosting our annual workwear design contest, and with this year’s cash prize up for grabs, one talented designer can potentially lay claim to up to $1,000 USD!!! (Must submit a five (5) part portfolio of individual designs for the following: hat contest, Men’s t-shirt, Women’s t-shirts contest, workwear shirt contest, Long-sleeve Shirt)

1. Workwear Shirt Design: We are tired of blending in. Our sales representatives current wear a plain black polo with our Jupiter Lighting logo (seen at left) embroidered or screen printed into the left pocket, we’d like to change that. We envision making the change over to workwear utility shirt, possibly a Dickies or Wrangler brand Utility/tech collared shirt (see attachments for inspiration). NO BOWLING SHIRTS, we’re I lighting company, understand our representatives often carry around tape measures, electrical or lumen testers, notepads, etc. and we want them to be comfortable and ready for the job.

2. Hat Design: This design should be a fun, original, and modern. Something that when a passer-by sees it, they wonder and explore who Jupiter Lighting actually is- hopefully to later someday provide them with advanced LED lighting solutions!

3. Women’s T-shirt Design: We want to produce some screen-printed/embroidered women’s t-shirts this are trendy and comfortable. Eye-catching for all women, even if someone doesn’t buy or like our LED Lighting products, they still want to wear these awesome shirts! Something in style for women of all ages.

4. Men’s T-shirt Design: See Women’s T-shirt description above. You can use all areas of the t-shirt (front/back or both) as your design area. Have fun and be creative! Don’t be afraid to be wild, abstract, or edgy with your artwork! We want our shirt designs to be so original, even if someone doesn’t buy or like our LED Lighting products, they still want to wear these awesome shirts!

5. Long-sleeve Shirt: The long-sleeve design will be similar to the expectations and requirements of the short-sleeve t-shirts. Use our logo to make a men’s long-sleeve tee in your choice of color(s), using all available printing areas (front, back, sleeves, etc). Copywriting may be required here, if you choose to think up a quote about lighting to be read from the back. Look at our website for inspiration!

Please view the attached jpg. Files for apparel that we thought to be acceptable articles of clothing, some you may choose to include in your design if you so choose. Thanks for your participation and GOOD luck!

We will be holding several similar contests to this one in the future, including a contest for the redesign portions of our webpage, but for now we are very happy with the participation from all and enjoyed getting the chance to work with so many incredibly talented designers.   Great T-shirt design James, we loved the mud tire tracks and splatters of paint accenting the logo. Our suggestions include removing the front tire tracks and changing the front pocket embroidery to Just the logo- no company name, and that would be a well rounded design for what we are seeking to add to our retail clothing line. Hello all,

we look forward to seeing a few of your completed 5-item portfolios over the next few days. Remember to include one of each: hat design, mens -tshirt design, womens t-shirt design, longsleeve tshirt, and workwear shirt. Review the SAMPLES for inspiration.. For the t-shirt designs, we'd like to see more of a Biker t-shirt collection of submissions. Look at HARLEY DAVIDSON Womens & Mens t-shirts, we want a badass collection of t-shirts with separate designs on each. Everyone please view our newly added images under DOCUMENTS for product images installed by some of our clients. Also I posted some new sample designs to give you an idea of what sorts of style we're striving for. Each design should be independent from one another and are not restricted to just the Jupiter BLUE in our logo. I will say we would like our company name or logo to appear somewhere on the shirts but it is not required. The designs should be something that is either EXTREME (edgy, biker style, bad ass, etc.) or outdoorsy (Adventure, Zen, Wander, etc. -maybe in the form of a quote). Have fun with the contest, this is a chance to display your modern and creative artwork all around the nation. USE the sample documents and logos provided. Another update will follow on MONDAY.   The shirts will be either screenprinted or embroidered (or a custom format if the design calls for it). The designs will be given to a local printing store here in the US where we will have several hundred shirts and hats made to be distributed and sold to our retailer stores and customers nationwide.

  In terms of artwork, we hope that you determine the graphic design of the portfolio items. I have attached under the documents section some images and details about the contest instructions. I would suggest an abstract or texturing designs, maybe with layering to draw viewers in. All submissions though should be original and creative. Thank you

The winning submission of the contest must include one design for each article of clothing to be scree printed or embroidered (5 total designs for articles of clothing). While there remains 8 days left of the contest, the time limit will likely be extended (1-2 weeks) to allow for more submissions to be made. The full logo is not a a requirement to be in the design, however the name should be incorporated somehow. Also, this is a five part design, needing the Hat, Tee-Shirt and Work shirt for the employees, We will add the attachments tomorrow. Thank you
