I have a website called aussiegenes.net. I wrote the orginal html site and then possibly about 5-7 years ago I wrote it again in WordPress.

The site is a genealogical site and I run it as a free service. I don't allow advertising nor do I in any way seek any fees or other recompense.

The site is, one sense, very large as there are about 8000 pages. However, these are nearly all generated by my genealogical program and sit at the root directory. So in another sense it is a very small site - there is the home page with a menu which directs users to less then PDFs.

I have had a few problems of late and I suspect the construction of it is showing its age. I, on the other hand, don't wish to devote time to rewriting it. The task would be to effectively create a good looking website using core WP functionality. This time around I would note want a specialist editor but essentially sticking to the Gutenberg editor. I would then expect a little support following the handover.

In one sense there is really only a home page with a menu. Themenu allows access to PDFs of the key families. With the html references, it is easy to find you way around the site.

I am looking for a simple rewrite from scratch using core WP. I have a number of active plugins which would need to be continued. I think a fresh start based on the core WP is the best solution for me. There are very few pages to actually generate but need to set up a menu and a reasonably presented site
