I want to have a custom rewards and referral app/extension for my Shopify store.
For the most part, it will function like a normal rewards and referral program. Customers earn rewards for shopping and referring others via coupon codes or affiliate links.
The big difference is how the rewards for shopping are allocated to customer accounts.
For example, if a customer buys a product, then they will receive 1% back in rewards directly and another 1% is added to a collective fund.
The 1% allocated to the collective is then split amongst all the members (customers) based on their membership level (determined by % of total sales at the end of the month).
So if the customer was in the highest membership level, they would get a total of 2% back (1% directly + 1% via the collective fund).
If the customer was in the lowest level, they would only get 1% (1% directly + 0% fund).
I want the rewards fund distribution to each customer to happen after every sale. All the customers' reward balances will increase after each sale (depending on membership level) with reward points from the collective fund.
I want this app to be able to function independently of Shopify, so that it can work with other shopping platforms in the future.
