We are interested in creating an intranet solution for a virtual business club (collaboration/groupware tool operating on a web platform).
The intranet solution should be composed from two parts:
- general, with public access (no login required) with limited functions for the visitors
- private, club member access (login required) with full functions for the registered users
The private part should support:
- club member profile creation and maintenance (details - see 1. below)
- club member searches based on the profiles (details - see 1. below)
- videoconferencing (details - see 2. below)
- virtual club event calendar maintenance (performed by the intranet admin). This should include definition of date and content of the video conference
- private event maintenance (performed by the specified, privileged club members). Possibility to create/maintain private video conferences.
- real (physical) club events maintenance (performed by the intranet admin) and blog
- blog system for presenting projects (“start ups”) maintained by the club members
At this stage of the project we need solution for following functions:
1. Club member profile maintenance and search. Profiles should support following : profession area, personal data, types of free time activities, networking interests. Message sending based on the profiles.
2. Video conferencing system. Video conferencing system should be implemented as an integral part of the intranet solution and contain similar functions like for example commercial product Fuze (see [login to view URL]). This module should support virtual meeting maintenance (for all members and private meetings organized by users with proper privileges), desktop sharing, chat system.
Use cases:
A new intranet visitor reach the club web page and from the general part (public access) gets information about the club. In case he is interested, he can (via intranet) contact club admin and apply for membership.
Club admin will create a new member login and assign the new member rights to access the member area. New member will create his profile containing information like professional and personal data, what are his expectations from the club membership, what type of “services” he can supply, what type of services/activities he is searching for.
New member can search in the existing member database and contact them with a private message.
Club members will have access to the club virtual event calendar (video conferences for various topics,...) and can register to attend the event.
A club member can enter a private video conference with other club members if he has created (maintained) this conference.
In addition to virtual events club members can register to physical (“real”) events listed on the club intranet and maintained by the admin.
Club members can present business ideas using club blog and comment the ideas supplied by other members
Additional information:
- web graphical design idea will be provided (is not part of the expected deliverables)
- key part of the solution is the video conferencing module. We expect the supplier should have experience/existing reference with this topic
- advantage of a supplier are existing/available core modules which can be used/adapted
- intranet solution should support multiple end user languages (core language english) with the potential to be extended to one or more european languages.
