Need help getting Joomla site back online

I was recently trying to add a cron job to my site, I hired someone to add the cron job and shortly after he told me it was working the front end of my site (Joomla) started giving me a server error: [url removed, login to view]

All front end pages give a server error: [url removed, login to view]

The front end of Joomla appears to be the only thing effected.

Accessing pages outside of the root directory works fine: [url removed, login to view]

And accessing files inside of the root directory also works: [url removed, login to view]

Also the back end of Joomla is working fine: [url removed, login to view]

The only thing that the previous worker said was that he removed the cron jobs for the root user, and another user. But I'm not sure why that would have an effect. The only other thing I can think of that may be causing the problem is mod_rewrite. The Joomla site is using search engine friendly URL's, and I think that something may have been broken with mod_rewrite which is only used in the front end.
