Abstract:
The “site” will handle the cataloging and selling of the products presented in the site. Product will be mainly provided from a distributor (“main distributor”) based on a drop-ship system. The site will accommodate for items from other distributions as well. Inventory from main distributor will be updated weekly. Selling will be handled by Paypal; therefore, any sell will be routed via paypal and back to the site following payment.
Zen or equivalent pos will do.
Design back-end:
The system already brings the csv file (enclosed) and insert into a temp table in the mysql database - This part is done by us in a weekly cron. We also update ourself a directory structure for the pis and supporting pdf. The path for it is in the temp table (or csv file)
What we need is:
1. Update inventory for existing items
2. Update spec or pic for existing items
3. Update price for each item
4. Update any information that is new for each item
5. Set pricing formula based on List price and OEM price
6. Update new category
New items:
1. Add to database and update all fields
2. Point to the pics in the path (already in the temp table)
3. Point to the supporting PDF (already in the path in temp table)
Light front Front-end:
(this will be used for testing and catalog)
Display items per categories
Display item page and access database
Perform smart search
Narrow search
Users front-end:
This will be embedded into an SEO friendly website and serve the ecommerce store (zen or convince us for an equivalent pos).
