Assist with Configuring GitLab CI with Codeception

I am looking for assistance with configuring GitLab CI and Codeception so I can write automation tests to automatically test my PHP code and deploy it to a production server if it passes. The PHP application sits on top of a WordPress Installation. So, when I commit code to the GitLab Repo, I would like to git push it to a remote git repository, and then execute Codeception tests. If they pass, I would like to either get a success message saying that they have passed, and possibly in the future to a git push to a production repository.
I already have the remote repos and GitLab set up. I am having issues getting codeception installed and talking to GitLab CI. Please reach out if you have experience with this. I would like to have assistance in doing this, but ultimately do it myself.
