Mentorship - Write some Software

Objectives:
I am looking into learning how to develop a software (web-based), decide about the architecture, design to meet scalability needs.
Skills to Achieve:
o Interaction and Creation of API, including Authenticating and Opening a Session using Using HTTPS Request or Other Forms of connection, if applicable. Create a session cookie and consume it.
o Manipulating JSON: Get the JSON, parse it and convert it to an object
o User Management: implementing Role-based Permissions and Access Control
o Database: identify a good - Relational DB to use, Connect to DB, Create and update Schema and Store Data
o Reporting: Responsive and Scalable, Handling large amount of data
Expectations:
o The mentor will not worry about my programming level or foundation
o The mentor will help architect and design the software
o I will write all the code
o If the mentor does not have any software material to work with, I have a small app idea that we can work on: a soft-phone application using vonage API and interact with JIRA API
