I have a running 4.x WordPress installation.

Then I have an external database, on same localhost of WordPress database, with tables and data already in place.

Now I’m trying to develop a plugin for the WordPress installation to let me:

1) Run custom select queries on the external database (I already have the queries);

2) Receive results in a way that I can further elaborate trough custom functions (e.g. arrays);

3) Display final results trough a 1 [login to view URL] residing in the plug-in folder. I can write the template page, so I only need the place holder page.
